monovaでは、スタートした2011年当初から秋田県角館の伝統工芸品である樺細工を紹介してまいりました。

ご存知の通り、樺細工のなかでも茶筒はよく知られたアイテムであり、山桜の樹皮を活かした仕上がりからは自然の美しさが感じられ、１つ１つに異なる趣があります。暮らしに身近なモノに、ここまで自然の風合いを残している工芸はとても希少なのではないでしょうか。そこに樺細工のもう1つの魅力があるように感じます。

今回、monovaでは「樺細工の魅力を存分に感じていただこう」と50種ほどの茶筒を集め、茶筒百景と題してミニ展示会を開催いたします。見どころは何と言っても多彩な品揃えです。樹皮の表情を存分に活かした「霜降皮」仕上げや、樹皮を薄く削って光沢を出した「無地皮」、一度樹から剥ぎ取った箇所に出来た2度目の皮で仕上げたものなど、趣ある茶筒の逸品が50種ほど並びます。また、外側にかえで・さくらといった天然木を使用した茶筒、金属のようなツヤがある漆仕上げのモダンなデザインの茶筒も揃っていて必見です。お好みのデザインを見つけてみてください。

また、もう一つの見どころは、地元作家による1点ものの貴重な樺細工の茶筒です。他ではなかなか見られない個性のある茶筒がたくさん並びます。

秋は紅葉のシーズンです。樺細工の茶筒が並ぶ「自然の美と工芸の技の競演による景色」を是非、お楽しみください。

As you may know, the tea caddy is a well-known item among Kabazaiku. The beauty of nature can be felt from the finish that makes use of wild cherry bark, and each piece has a different taste. We think it’s very rare to find a craft that preserves the natural texture of things.

monova will collect about 50 types of tea caddy and hold a mini exhibition titled “Tea caddy Views”. The highlight is the wide variety of products. There is a “Shimofuri (or Marble)” finish that takes full advantage of the expression of the bark, and a “Muji (or Natural)” finish that is made by scraping the bark thinly to give it a glossy finish.

There are about 50 types of quaint tea caddies on display. They also have tea caddies with modern designs made from natural woods such as maple and cherry wood on outside.  Please find your favorite design.

Another highlight is the rare tea caddy made by traditional craftsmen. There are many unique tea caddies that are hard to find anywhere else.

Autumn is the season of changing leaves. Please enjoy the scenery that combines the beauty of nature and craftsmanship at monova.
